After much confusion, I have received the Loyalty Days Parade application!!! This parade seems to be a bit larger than I expected so students if you know persons with a truck and/or a large flat trailer please let me know. In addition, my ideas of using a boom box to play music have been dashed by the largeness of the parade! A boom box won’t cut it so, if you know anyone with a sound system that can play from a vehicle let me know soon! We’ve got to hear the music in order to dance!!! Time is of the essence because parade is only open to the first 90 applicants!!! Mark your calendars…Loyalty Days Parade is May 6th!!!

Can you believe it…a henna artist in Newport?!?! Well, the woman is a wonder! I stopped in last week to get a sample done and had a blast. I’m working with her to hopefully host a henna workshop just before the Loyalty Days Parade so students can have their hands or feet done. Her work is great, prices are very reasonable, she has tons of designs to pick from and even has guilding mediums and gems that she can apply! Stop in today and treat yourself! Baraka Body Art is located inside “The Hot Spot” at 434 SW Coast Hwy in Newport (541)961-1698. Fridays and Saturdays 11am-5pm.

A new class session begins Tuesday, March 21st and Thrusday, March 23rd. Beginner Level 1 classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8pm. Beginner Level 2 classes are held every Thursday from 8-9pm. All classes are held in the dance studio at the Newport Parks and Rec Center in Newport, Oregon.
